Description

Travel Registered Nurse (MS/Tele) - Florida, Titusville

Contract Details

  • Length: 13 weeks
  • Employment Type: Travel/Contract
  • Location: Titusville, Florida
  • Facility Type: Acute Care Hospital
  • Beds: 210 staffed beds
  • Patient Ratio: 1:6 patient ratio experience required
  • Schedule:
    • Weekend shifts every other weekend
    • Floating required within scope
    • No block scheduling allowed
    • Mandatory 5 shifts for clinical orientation week (36-40 hours)
    • No RTO (return to office) during first or last week of assignment
  • Local Travel: No locals; must live more than 30 miles from facility

Required Experience

  • Specialty: Registered Nurse (MS/Tele)
  • Years of Experience: Minimum 2 years
  • Additional Experience:
    • Rapid Response team experience required
    • Total joints experience required

Certifications & Licenses

  • Valid RN license in Florida
  • Med Surg / Telemetry experience (minimum 2 years, with experience within the last year)
  • Rapid Response experience
  • ACLS issued by American Heart Association
  • BLS issued by American Heart Association
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Orientation & Training

  • Must complete facility-specific job description and orientation modules prior to start
  • eLearning and Elsevier modules assigned approximately 2 weeks before start; must be completed before starting
  • Non-employee orientation quiz and confidentiality statements required
  • Fit testing for masks completed onsite during first week
  • Medication/Pharmacology competency exams required with passing score of 84% or higher
  • Color Blind Testing required through Relias (score 80% or higher)

Compliance & Background Checks

  • Government-issued photo ID required
  • Background check within 6 months including social security trace, nationwide and county checks, sex offender registry, education verification
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required
  • Florida AHCA Level II fingerprint clearance required prior to start (Livescan electronic fingerprinting)
  • Education verification of ASN, BSN, or MSN required (transcript/diploma acceptable as placeholder)
  • Drug screen: 9-panel drug screen within 3 months of start (instant tests not accepted)
  • Physical exam within 6 months of start
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start (with additional requirements if history of positive TB)
  • Required vaccinations or documented immunity for:
    • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella)
    • Hepatitis B
    • Varicella
  • COVID vaccine documentation required; religious or medical exemption forms accepted
  • Flu vaccine or declination documentation recommended but not required for contract workers

Additional Requirements & Notes

  • Floating within scope required
  • Must be available to work holidays and evening shifts as assigned during the contract
  • Strict attendance policy: 3 call outs result in termination
  • Notice requirements for shift changes:
    • 48 hours notice refusal may forfeit guaranteed hours
    • 1 week or more notice refusal may result in termination
  • Must review and sign multiple facility-specific acknowledgements and policies including:
    • Confidentiality statement
    • Tobacco-free non-smoking acknowledgement
    • Timecard expectations
    • Orientation packets and safety manuals
  • Two professional references required within two years of start
  • Performance evaluation on file within last year required if previously assigned through any agency
  • Skills checklist required

This position is for a high-acuity mixed unit requiring a skilled MS/Tele RN with strong experience in rapid response and total joints care, able to work a structured schedule with floating and weekend requirements.
