Job Opportunity: Dietitian (Travel/Contract)

Job Description

• Full-time temporary position to backfill a vacancy due to resignation
• Team consists of 4 inpatient dietitians
• The team writes TPN onsite, but the temporary RD is not expected to perform TPN functions
• Department expectation: 10-12 interventions per day

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) license in Maryland
• Minimum of 1 year of recent experience as a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (within the last year)

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID required (driver’s license or state ID)
• Background check within 6 months covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years; updated annually
• Education verification and accreditation confirmation as applicable
• Physical exam within 1 year confirming ability to meet essential job functions
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (pending results allowed before start)
• Drug screening: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
• Immunizations/vaccinations required:

  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (2 MMR vaccines or positive titer; boosters if negative)
  • Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer; boosters if negative)
  • Hepatitis B (titer, series, or signed declination)
  • Seasonal flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption during flu season
• Fit mask testing required for new contracts (respirator fit test onsite)
• Various facility-specific documents and policies must be reviewed and signed (e.g., attendance, floating policy)

Certifications and Competencies

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) may be required depending on unit (verify)
• Other certifications (PALS, NRP, CHEMO, TNCC, EFM, CPI) to be verified as applicable
• Competency exams including medication/pharmacology and unit-specific skills may be required
• Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam may be required depending on unit (details provided for RN roles; likely not applicable for dietitian)

Additional Notes

• Candidate must complete health assessment surveys prior to start
• Stroke and trauma CEUs may be required depending on unit assignment (verify)
• References and employment verification required (2 professional references within 2 years)
• Candidate must complete all required documentation and compliance items prior to start to ensure timely onboarding
