Location: Des Moines, Iowa

Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM, every other weekend, every other holiday

Job Description

Seeking a Registered Nurse with specialty in Medical/Surgical and Telemetry care. This is a travel assignment requiring flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays on an alternating schedule.

Required Qualifications

• License: Valid RN license for the state of Iowa.
• Certifications:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association certification required.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - required for RNs in critical care areas.
  • National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
  • Specialty-specific competency testing completed within the last year.
• Health Requirements:

  • Current physical/health statement certifying fitness to work.
  • Immunizations and vaccine requirements including:

    • COVID-19 vaccine or approved exemption.
    • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or immunity proof.
    • Hepatitis B vaccination series (titers not accepted).
    • Influenza vaccine or approved exemption.
    • Varicella vaccination or immunity proof.
    • Tdap vaccination (declinations accepted if no pediatric interaction).
  • 2 Step PPD or IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot) tuberculosis screening.
  • Drug screening: 10-panel drug screen completed within 30 days of start (excluding THC).
• Background Checks and Compliance:

  • Federal, state, and county criminal background checks within the last 7 years.
  • Sex offender and dependent adult/child abuse registry checks as required by Iowa law.
  • Employment eligibility verification (I-9).
  • Various professional compliance forms and disclosures.
• Additional Requirements:

  • Fit test for respiratory protection.
  • Skills checklist and resume with professional references.
  • Specialty exam documentation.
  • System access and confidentiality agreements.
