Description

Registered Nurse - Emergency Room

Location: Fairfield, Iowa
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Position Overview

  • Provide total patient care using the nursing process: assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient needs.
  • Direct and guide patient teaching and activities of ancillary personnel.
  • Maintain professional nursing standards.

Schedule

  • Monday and Tuesday, 6 PM to 6 AM

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current Iowa RN license.
  • Certifications required: BCLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC.
  • Experience preferred but not required.

Employment & Health Requirements (must be completed prior to contract start)

  • Resume and two recent employment references.
  • Online verification of licensure/certification including expiration and disciplinary status.
  • Copies of required certifications: BCLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC.
  • Immunizations:
    • MMR (2 doses or positive titers)
    • Varicella (positive titer or 2 vaccines)
    • Polio
    • Hepatitis B series, titer, or signed declination
    • Current TDaP (within 10 years)
    • Flu vaccination or exemption during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)
  • Negative 2-step Mantoux test within 1 year or QuantiFERON Gold; if positive, proof of chest x-ray required.
  • Physical exam within 1 year.
  • 10 Panel Drug Screen within 1 month.
  • Respiratory Fit Test within 1 year (can be provided if unavailable).
  • Criminal background checks for all states of licensure and residence in past 7 years.
  • National and state sex offender registry checks.
  • Federal exclusions and sanctions checks within 30 days.
  • Mandatory Reporter Certificates for Child Abuse & Dependent Adult Abuse.
  • Completion of required education modules prior to start.
