Job Opportunity: Radiation Therapist
Location: Durham, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Summary
Seeking a Radiation Therapist with a minimum of 3 years of experience. This role requires expertise in radiation therapy with specific experience using Variam Truebeam and ARIA systems. Candidates must be proficient in EPIC charting and able to work with adult patient populations.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Radiation Therapist license in North Carolina
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Radiation Therapist, including experience within the last year
- ARRT certification
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- Experience working with adult patients
- Experience with EPIC charting
Compliance and Documentation Requirements
- Background checks including SSN trace, county searches, sex offender, international, education verification, and sanction list searches must be completed within 90 days of start.
- Education verification required for all Radiology/Cardiology specialties.
- Physical exam within 12 months of start.
- Fit mask (N95 or equivalent) within 12 months of start.
- Immunizations and health documents required:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (every 10 years)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella vaccinations or positive titers (no exemptions)
- Hepatitis B titer, vaccine series, or declination
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer
- Seasonal flu vaccination (mandatory for new hires during flu season; no exemptions)
- Drug testing: Negative 10-panel within 30 days of start (no instant tests)
- Two professional references from employment within the last 12 months, including at least one supervisor.
- Employment application and skills checklist must be current and complete.
Orientation and Onboarding
- Orientation sessions held bi-weekly.
- Candidates must set up a facility-specific guest account prior to clearance to access orientation and work systems.
- Competency exams and unit-specific training required.
- All required online modules must be completed prior to orientation.
Additional Notes
- Candidates must have prior travel experience; first-time travelers are not eligible.
- No weekend shifts required.
- Flu vaccine is mandatory with no exemptions allowed.
- Local candidates within 75 miles are preferred.
This position is ideal for experienced Radiation Therapists with strong technical skills in radiation therapy equipment and electronic medical records, who have prior travel contract experience and meet strict health and compliance requirements.
