Ultrasound Technologist (General) - Temp Position
Location: Waterloo, Iowa
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
Seeking an experienced Ultrasound Technologist with proficiency in general, OB/GYN (non high-risk), and vascular ultrasound imaging. The role involves performing approximately 15 scans per day, including abdomen, small parts, and various Doppler studies. Experience with EPIC EMR is required.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform ultrasound exams including:
- Abdomen/RUQ with liver vessel evaluation
- Kidneys & bladder
- Pelvis (transabdominal and transvaginal)
- 1st trimester OB (transabdominal and transvaginal)
- Testicle/scrotum evaluation
- Venous Doppler (DVT evaluation of arms and legs)
- ABIs (Ankle-Brachial Index)
- Thyroids, aortas, and carotids
- Limited 2nd/3rd trimester OB (BPP, measurements, fluid checks)
- Assist with fine needle aspirations, paracentesis, and thoracentesis procedures (preferred but not required)
- Use EPIC EMR system for documentation
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 24 months of experience as an Ultrasound Technologist/Sonographer
- Experience in general/abdomen, non high-risk OB/GYN, and vascular ultrasound
- ARDMS certification in Abdomen (required)
- ARDMS certification in Vascular Technology (highly preferred)
- ARDMS certification in OB/GYN (highly preferred)
- Proficiency with EPIC EMR system
- Active Iowa license or compact/multistate license for Ultrasound Technologists (if applicable)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA or American Red Cross
- Valid driver’s license
- Professional references within the last 24 months preferred
Additional Information
- Open to first-time travel Ultrasound Technologists with at least 2 years of experience
- Approximately 36-40 hours per week, with overtime after 40 hours
- Orientation start date is firm; candidate must be available to start on the specified date
Specialty Experience Required
- At least 2 years of Ultrasound Technologist experience (highest requirement)
Prior Travel Experience
- Not required; first-time travelers with sufficient experience are accepted
