Job Opportunity: Operating Room Registered Nurse

Location: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Must hold a Pennsylvania or compact nursing license at time of submission.
• Schedule includes options for (2) 8-hour shifts (11p-7:30a) and (2) 12-hour shifts (7p-7:30a).
• Floating may be required to GI unit or Surgery Center.
• 6-week schedule requires working (2) weekend nights (8 or 12 hours depending on staffing).
• Holiday call includes (1) summer and (1) winter holiday shift (8 or 12 hours depending on staffing).
• Required experience:

  • Minimum 3 years as a Registered Nurse.
  • Level I Trauma experience with trauma certification required (at least 2-3 years in Level 1 Trauma).
  • Experience with liver and kidney cases preferred.
• BSN degree required.
• Experience with scrub and circulate preferred.
• Charting system used: Cerner.
• No first-time travelers accepted.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Pennsylvania
• Minimum 2 years of Operating Room (OR) experience, including OR experience within the last year
• Experience working with Level 1 Trauma patients and trauma experience
• Completion of at least one travel assignment
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Additional Information

• Must be able to work holiday shifts and weekend nights as scheduled.
• Prior travel experience required; no first-time travelers accepted.
• Floating assignments may be required.
• Orientation includes pass/fail testing; failure results in contract cancellation.
