Registered Nurse - ICU (Travel Contract)

Location: Austin, Texas
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
On-Call: No on-call required

Unit Overview

Unit Type: Shock Trauma Intensive Care Unit (TICU)
Number of Beds: 10
Staffing:
- Day Shift: 1 Charge Nurse, 5 RNs
- Night Shift: 1 Charge Nurse, 5 RNs
Patient Ratios: 1:2 or 1:1
Equipment: GE Bedside Monitors, Alaris Pumps
EMR System: Meditech
Permanent Positions Available: Yes

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
Minimum 1 year of Trauma ICU experience within the last year
ACLS certification
BLS certification
NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Job Responsibilities

Perform and document patient assessments
Create and revise plans of care
Document patient outcomes and responses
Administer and document medications
Implement physician orders accurately
Escalate patient issues efficiently and correctly

External Ventricular Drains (EVDs) / Bolts
Arterial Lines
Central Lines
Chest Tube Insertion
