Echocardiography Technologist

Job Summary

Perform diagnostic cardiac ultrasound procedures to assist physicians in diagnosing and treating cardiac conditions. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to patient care and safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform transthoracic and/or transesophageal echocardiograms (TTE/TEE) and stress echocardiography procedures following established protocols.
• Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment and imaging software.
• Obtain high-quality images and accurate measurements of cardiac structures and function.
• Collaborate with cardiologists to provide preliminary findings and ensure timely interpretation of results.
• Prepare and position patients for procedures, ensuring comfort and safety.
• Maintain accurate patient records and document procedures in the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Ensure equipment is regularly cleaned, maintained, and functioning correctly; report issues promptly.
• Adhere to all safety, infection control, and regulatory guidelines.
• Participate in continuing education and training to maintain professional competency and certifications.

Required Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited cardiac ultrasound/echocardiography program.
• Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) through ARDMS or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) through CCI.
• Current BLS certification.
• Proficiency in performing echocardiograms and interpreting cardiac anatomy and function.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a clinical echocardiography setting (highly preferred).
• Experience with EMR and PACS systems (highly preferred).
• Familiarity with contrast echocardiography and advanced imaging techniques (highly preferred).
