Job Opportunity: Physical Therapist - Inpatient/Acute Care
Location: Amarillo, Texas
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: 5 days per week, 8-hour shifts
- Facility: 450-bed trauma level 3 hospital with approximately 360 census
- Work Environment:
- 7 floors providing therapy services
- Patient populations include ortho, neuro, oncology, post-op back and neck, basic med-surg, and ICU (medical, cardiac, surgical)
- Team includes 8-10 PTs and 6-8 PTAs daily
- Collaboration with OT, ST, and case management teams
- Travel Radius: 50 miles; local candidates not accepted
Required Qualifications
- Valid Physical Therapist license in Texas
- Minimum 1 year of Physical Therapist experience, including experience within the last year
Health & Compliance Requirements
- Physical exam within 12 months of start
- Fit mask test within 1 year of start (annual renewal required)
- Immunizations/vaccinations:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (positive titer or 2 vaccines)
- Hepatitis B (positive titer, series, or declination)
- Varicella (positive titer, 2 vaccines, or documented history)
- Drug screening: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start; additional onsite drug screen during orientation
- COVID-19 vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption required
- Seasonal flu vaccine or approved exemption required during flu season
Background & Documentation
- 7-year background check within 1 year of start, updated annually
- Education verification (highest level) required
- Work history verification for 7 years
- Driver’s license or state ID required
- Various facility-specific documents including photo for badge and orientation safety manual acknowledgment
Additional Notes
- Candidates must complete a full application/resume
- Unit-specific skills checklist required annually
- No prior travel experience required for this position
