Job Opportunity: Operating Room Registered Nurse

Location: Milwaukie, Oregon
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Overview

• Position involves floating between units based on needs and skill set.
• On-call required: 1 night per week and 1 weekend per month.
• Weekends required when on call (1 per month).
• Expected patient ratio: 1:1.
• Vehicle required for assignment.
• Floating may include multiple nearby locations.
• Short Term Acute Care facility with 109 staffed beds.
• Charting system: Epic.
• No parking fees.
• Scrub color: Any color allowed except OR/Critical Care/ED/Maternal Child where scrubs are provided.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Oregon.
• Minimum 2 years of Operating Room (OR) experience.
• Operating Room experience within the last year.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).

Work Requirements & Conditions

• Floating between units and possibly facilities within reasonable distance.
• On-call shifts and weekend coverage as noted.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Physical exam within 1 year of start required.
• Fit mask testing required and must be updated annually.
• Immunizations and health screenings required:

  • TB test or chest X-ray
  • Hepatitis B vaccination or declination
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
  • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
  • Tdap vaccination within 10 years or declination
  • Seasonal flu vaccine or declination (during flu season)
  • COVID vaccine or declination
• Drug screening (10 panel) within 90 days of start.
• Background check and various state-specific screenings required.

Compliance & Training

• Completion of required WorkRamp modules prior to start and annually thereafter, including:

  • Core regulatory requirements
  • Specialty-specific modules for Operating Room and related areas
  • Epic training modules (completion required before working)
  • Trauma-informed care basics (effective 12/22/25)
• References: Minimum 2 supervisor references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within the last 3 years.

• Floating policy acknowledgment required.
• Background checks include multi-state and federal screenings, education verification, and state-specific searches.
• Badge photo required for identification.
• Physical and health documentation must be current and compliant with facility standards.

This position is ideal for experienced Operating Room RNs who are flexible with floating assignments and able to meet comprehensive credentialing and compliance requirements.
