Location: Mattoon, Illinois
Employment Type: Temporary
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

Surgical Technologists assist in nursing care and preparation of surgical patients by performing scrub duties. Responsibilities include:

• Assisting in emergency procedures as well as elective and scheduled cases
• Assisting in preparation, transportation, and supervision of patients
• Maintaining education in surgical operating room and related patient care aspects

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years of experience as a Certified Surgical Tech
• Proficient in orthopedic procedures, specifically total joints, hip fractures, arthroscopy, ORIFs, shoulder scopes, and replacements
• Proficient in vascular and neuro surgical procedures
• Must have completed at least 2 prior travel assignments
• Must have completed a successful assignment with your current agency
• Active American Heart Association BLS certification
• Work history and skills checklist relevant to the operating room, current within 1 year
• Two supervisory references with dates of employment

Additional Information

• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not eligible
• Applicants who were direct employees of the facility within the last 2 years are not eligible
• Facility provides scrubs as dress code
• Electronic Medical Record system used: Cerner

Notes for Candidates

• Prior travel experience is required (minimum 2 prior travel assignments)
• This role requires strong proficiency in orthopedic, vascular, and neuro surgical tech skills
• The position is day shift in the operating room setting
