Travel/Contract Registered Nurse (Med Surg - Nights)

Location: Albuquerque, New Mexico
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

Shift: Nights
Hours: 36 or 48 hour option (anything over 48 hours is overtime)
Nurse to patient ratio: 1:6
Unit size: 32 beds
No call; floating to like units
Weekend shifts: 6 weekend shifts within 6 weeks
Charting system: Epic
Rapid response team activation

Requirements/Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Mexico
Minimum 1 year of Med Surg nursing experience within the last year
BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Required Certifications & Licenses

ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) as applicable
PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) as applicable
NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) as applicable
CHEMO certification as applicable
TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) as applicable
CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) preferred/required as applicable
Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) as applicable
NIH Stroke Certification as applicable

Required Documents & Compliance

7-year background check within 1 year of start, updated annually
Education verification (highest level) required
NURSYS verification for RN license
Physical exam within 12 months of start
Fit mask test within 1 year of start, renewed annually
Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start
Adult TDAP vaccine within 10 years of start (no declinations except approved medical exemptions)
Required immunizations or proof of immunity:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B
- Varicella
Negative 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start
Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)
Fingerprinting required onsite during orientation (New Mexico placements only)
Photo for badge required

Additional Requirements

Complete application/resume required
Unit-specific skills checklist required annually
7-year work history verification required
Color blind testing required
Medication/pharmacology competency exam required as applicable (minimum 80% score)

Notes

Prior travel experience is NOT required for this position
Floating may occur to similar units within the facility
Orientation and EPIC training available pending fingerprint clearance
