Job Opportunity: Dietitian (Travel/Contract)
Location: Washington, District of Columbia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Weekend shifts including Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday
- Typical shifts: Monday-Friday, either 5x8 (8:30 AM - 5:00 PM) or 4x10 (7:00 AM - 5:30 PM)
- Float requirement: May be assigned to any unit within the hospital
- Dress code: Business casual or black scrubs with lab coat (not provided)
- Flu vaccination is mandatory for all employees
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) license in District of Columbia
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist within the last year
- Experience working with adult patients
- Experience in outpatient and clinic settings
Required Documentation & Compliance
- Criminal background check within 90 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
- Education verification for highest degree required by position
- Drug screening within 90 days of start (excluding marijuana)
- Annual physical exam confirming ability to perform work without accommodations and free from communicable disease
- Immunizations and health documentation including:
- Flu vaccination or approved exemption (strict guidelines apply)
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray as applicable
- Documentation of MMR, Hepatitis B, Varicella vaccinations or titers
- Valid driver's license if driving is an essential job function
- Completion of facility-specific orientation modules prior to start
- Annual competency exams and other certifications as required by unit (e.g., BLS, ACLS if applicable)
Additional Requirements
- Two positive supervisory references supporting at least 2 years of experience within the last 3 years
- Complete 7 years of work history with no gaps, including education, employment, license, and contact information
- Skills checklist and competency exams updated annually
Notes
- This position requires flexibility to float to different hospital units.
- Business casual or black scrubs with lab coat are acceptable attire; scrubs are not provided.
- Flu vaccination is mandatory unless a strict exemption is approved.
