Job Description

• Provide rehabilitative, skilled, and medically necessary treatment interventions to patients with physical functioning disorders under the supervision of a Physical Therapist.
• Utilize evidence-based practices to support clinical interventions.
• Administer procedures including manual techniques, ambulation, therapeutic exercises, modalities, and use of supportive/assistive devices.
• Assess patient progress and communicate with supervising Physical Therapist to adjust treatments.
• Report treatment effectiveness and provide consultation to patients, families, caregivers, and other service providers.
• Document all required clinical and regulatory information accurately in electronic records.
• Participate in patient care conferences, utilization review meetings, rehabilitation meetings, and required trainings.
• Support and supervise students under the guidance of the Physical Therapist.
• Adhere to APTA and state practice acts, code of conduct, and ethics.

Work Schedule

• 8-hour shifts during the day
• Productivity expectations: 90-93% for assistants
• Typical caseload: 7-12 patients per day, with treatment times around 30-35 minutes for Medicare A and managed care patients
• Group therapy is allowed and encouraged to help with productivity
• Dedicated device provided for documentation

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of Physical Therapist Assistant experience
• Experience in Long Term Care (LTC) or Rehabilitation settings
• Active Physical Therapist Assistant license for Missouri
