Job Opportunity: Operating Room Registered Nurse

Location: Kerrville, Texas
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Role: Main OR Circulator
• Schedule: Call required nights, weekends, and holidays
• Time Off: 3-day weekend per month, minimum 1 day off per week
• Floating: Required to float to Surgery Center circulating role as needed
• Case Types: All surgeries except heart, brain, and spine
• Shift Hours: 0630-1500 Monday through Friday, no days off
• Late shifts are mandatory
• Scrubs provided

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
• Minimum 2 years of full-time Operating Room (OR) circulating experience, including experience within the last year
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID required
• Background checks including 7-year search, education verification, and annual federal exclusions screenings
• Primary source verification of state nursing license
• Annual competency exams and medication/pharmacology tests (must score 80% or above)
• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Immunizations and health requirements including:

  • TDAP vaccine within 10 years or declination
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray as applicable
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) immunity or declination
  • Hepatitis B immunity or vaccine series or declination
  • Varicella immunity or declination
  • Seasonal flu vaccine or declination during flu season
  • COVID vaccine or declination
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 1 year of start
• Annual skills checklist and orientation safety manual acknowledgement
• Two professional references within 3 years of start

Additional Notes

• Prior travel experience is not required for this position
• Floating to other surgical areas may be necessary
• Late shifts and call coverage are mandatory parts of the schedule

This position is ideal for experienced OR nurses looking for a travel contract with a structured schedule and diverse surgical cases excluding cardiac, neuro, and spine specialties.
