Job Opportunity: Electrophysiology Tech

Location: Titusville, Florida
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Schedule & Work Details

• Shift: Monday – Friday, 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM
• Call Requirements: No formal call, but includes late case coverage until the case is closed
• Weekend Coverage: Every third weekend required
• Float: Not required
• Block Scheduling: Not allowed
• Local Travel: Candidates must live more than 30 miles from the facility
• COVID+ patients may be encountered
• Attendance Policy: 3 call outs result in termination
• Shift change notices:

  • 48 hours notice refusal may forfeit guaranteed hours
  • 1 week or more notice refusal may result in termination

Required Experience

• Minimum 1 year experience in specialty required, 2 years preferred
• First-time travelers accepted only if they have 2+ years of experience
• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required

Specialty

• Radiology / Cardiology
• Must have EP lab experience and be able to scrub procedures and EP studies
• Experience with Phillips equipment required
• Must maintain procedural responsibilities

Certifications & Licenses Required

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• One of the following certifications:

  • ARRT RT(R)
  • RCIS
  • RCES
  • CVT
  • RRT

System / Technology

• Charting system: Meditech

Additional Requirements

• Must be able to scrub procedures
• Must have experience with EP lab and Phillips equipment
• Must complete facility-specific job description and orientation modules prior to start
• Must comply with all background checks, health documents, and competency exams as required

Background & Compliance Checks

• Government-issued photo ID required
• Background check within 6 months including social security trace, nationwide checks, education verification
• Florida AHCA Level II fingerprint clearance required prior to start
• Education verification or transcript/diploma acceptable as placeholder
• Drug screen (9 panel) within 3 months of start
• Physical exam within 6 months of start
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start
• COVID vaccination documentation required or facility-specific exemption forms if declined
• Other vaccinations required or waiver forms as applicable (MMR, Hepatitis B, Varicella)

Competency & Training

• Medication/Pharmacology competency exam required
• Color blind testing required (minimum 80%)
• Facility-specific eLearning modules must be completed prior to start
• Orientation quizzes and acknowledgements required

References & History

• Two professional references within two years required
• Performance evaluation within the last year required if previously assigned through any agency
• Skills checklist required

Requirements / Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of Electrophysiology Technician experience, with experience within the last year
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• ARRT RT(R) certification
• Proficiency in PPI (Patient Procedure Interface)
• Experience with EP studies and ability to scrub procedures
