Job Opportunity: Cath Lab Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Titusville, Florida
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Summary

The Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist RN (CVIS RN) performs within the scope of an RN license and applies a wide range of technical skills during Interventional Cardiovascular, Electrophysiology, or Interventional Radiology procedures. The role involves angiography preparation, patient assessment, documentation, and monitoring to ensure efficient, comfortable, and safe examinations.


Requirements

  • Valid RN license in Florida
  • Minimum 2 years of Cardiac Cath Lab experience
  • Cardiac Cath Lab experience within the last year
  • ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

  • Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID).
  • Background check within 6 months including social security trace, nationwide and county checks, sex offender registry, and education verification.
  • Florida AHCA Level II fingerprint clearance required prior to start.
  • Education verification of ASN, BSN, or MSN degree (transcript/diploma acceptable as placeholder).
  • Physical exam within 6 months of start.
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within required timeframes.
  • Drug screening (9-panel) within 3 months of start.
  • COVID-19 vaccination documentation or approved exemption forms.
  • Required facility-specific orientation and competency modules must be completed prior to start.

Facility & Work Environment

  • Acute care hospital setting with 210 staffed beds.
  • Charting system: Meditech version 6.08.
  • Free parking available in unrestricted spaces.
  • Scrub color provided.

Additional Notes

  • Return to Office (RTO) parameters: no more than 10 days off, requiring an additional 2 weeks added to the assignment; no RTO during the first or last week of assignment.
  • Candidates must complete multiple facility-specific documents and acknowledgments prior to start, including orientation quizzes and confidentiality statements.
  • Medication and pharmacology competency exams required with a passing score of 84% or higher.
  • Color blindness testing required through online platform with a minimum score of 80%.
  • NIH Stroke Certification required except for PACU, OR, Women’s Center, or Case Management RNs.
