Job Description

• Work on a Neuro/Surgical Telemetry floor (Stepdown unit).
• Schedule: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (1845-0715).
• No on-call required.
• May be required to float to other Medical-Surgical/Telemetry units or low-acuity ICU.
• Holiday and weekend coverage required: 3 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule; must be willing to work Memorial Day.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Tennessee.
• Minimum 1 year of Medical-Surgical/Telemetry experience within the last year.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
• Current certifications issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross:

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system.

Additional Requirements

• Background check within 30 days of start, including all locations lived/worked in the past 7 years.
• Government-issued photo ID required during hours of service.
• Physical exam within one year attesting ability to meet physical demands.
• N95 Fit Test within one year, updated annually (no PAPR allowed).
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray per protocol.
• Required immunizations or titers: Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella.
• Negative 10-panel drug test within 30 days of start.
• Flu vaccine required during flu season (no exemptions accepted).
• COVID vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required prior to start.
• Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations.
• Complete employment application/resume required.
• Skills checklist as applicable to specialty.

Summary

This is a travel contract RN position on a Neuro/Surgical Telemetry stepdown unit requiring at least 1 year of MS/Telemetry experience, current BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications, and recent Epic experience. The role involves 12-hour night shifts with weekend and holiday coverage. Prior travel experience is preferred but not mandatory. Compliance with comprehensive background, health, and immunization requirements is mandatory.
