Travel Registered Nurse (RN) - ICU/PCU/MS Float

Location: Roanoke, Virginia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Overview

• Float across ICU, PCU, and Medical-Surgical (MS) units
• Must be comfortable working all three specialties
• Staffing ratios: ICU 2:1, PCU 5:1, MS 6:1 (may flex up to 7:1)
• Shifts: 3x12 hour shifts (6:45 AM - 7:15 PM), 4x12 shifts available by request
• Floating may occur every 4 hours, up to 2-3 times per shift
• Weekend requirement: Every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week block
• Holiday requirement: Must work one holiday per 13-week contract
• EPIC charting experience required
• Accepts first-time travelers

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Virginia
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Minimum 2 years ICU experience, including experience within the last year
• ACLS issued by American Heart Association
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• NIHSS certification
• Experience in central line care/management
• Skilled in care of ventilated patients and suctioning (ETT, NT)
• Proficient in dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Experience titrating cardiac drips and vasoactive gtts
• Skilled in managing continuous IV sedation and emergency medication administration
• Experience responding to emergencies via Rapid Response/Code teams
• Knowledge of IV insulin protocols
• Experience with EPIC electronic health record system
