Location: Idaho Falls, Idaho

Shift: Days (05:00-13:30 or 09:30-18:00)
Hours: 36 hours per week

Job Description

Seeking a certified Histology Technician (HTL) with specialized experience in immunohistochemistry (IHC) stains and troubleshooting staining programs and protocols. The role involves working independently in a lab setting with a small team, performing a variety of histology procedures.

Unit Information

• Department: Histology Lab
• Staff: 2 full-time Histology Technicians on day shift; no night shift staff
• Equipment includes:

  • Roche Benchmark Ultra IHC stainers
  • Roche Special Stainer
  • Sakura tissue processors
  • Thermo Fisher embedding system and slide labelers
  • Sakura H&E Stainer/Coverslipper
  • Leica Microtomes

Required Qualifications

• ASCP certification as a Histology Technologist (HTL)
• Minimum of 2 years of Histology Technologist experience, including experience within the last year
• Experience working in an Acute Care setting
• Proficient in immunohistochemistry (IHC) techniques
• Skilled in performing special stains
• Experience managing and troubleshooting staining instrumentation

Typical Procedures

• Logging incoming tissue samples
• Embedding tissues
• Cutting tissue for staining
• Operating staining equipment
• Filing slides and cassettes

Preferred Attributes

• Higher certification (HTL) with extensive training in IHC stains and troubleshooting
• Ability to multitask and work independently
• Professional demeanor with a good attitude in stressful environments
• Easy-going with a good sense of humor

Dress Code

• Scrubs in charcoal grey or business casual attire under a lab coat (lab coats provided)

• No floating to other areas required
