Radiologic Technologist (X-ray) - West Virginia

Location: Weirton, West Virginia
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

Seeking a Radiologic Technologist skilled in general X-ray, fluoroscopy, and operating room imaging. The role involves working across multiple imaging areas including general radiology, portable X-rays, fluoroscopy, and OR cases. The position requires flexibility to float between these areas and handle a high volume of studies daily.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform general X-ray studies, fluoroscopy cases (orthopedic and GI), and OR imaging (cystoscopy, ortho, GI).
• Float between general radiology, fluoroscopy, and OR imaging departments.
• Manage approximately 110 scans/studies per day.
• Work varied shifts including daylight, afternoon, and midnight with a 2-2-3 schedule (two days on, two days off, three days on).
• May be the only technologist on-site during overnight shifts.
• Participate in weekend rotations every other weekend and holiday rotations as needed.
• Complete a department-specific orientation consisting of 5 shifts with a preceptor.

Work Environment & Equipment

• Department includes 4 rooms: 3 general X-ray, 1 fluoroscopy, 2 portable units, and 3 C-Arms.
• Equipment includes C-arms (OEC), portable GE AMX with DR-Konica, and diagnostic rooms with Del Medical, Siemens, and Philips systems.
• Use of EMR system and PACS software for imaging management.
• Radiologist coverage onsite until 5pm, then on-call overnight.

Required Qualifications

• Valid WV X-ray license.
• ARRT certification.
• BLS certification.
• Fluoroscopy and OR imaging experience required.
• Must be able to function competently in all imaging areas including general X-ray, portable, fluoroscopy, and OR.
• First-time travel technologists are welcome to apply.
• Must have an unexpired driver’s license and comply with a 50-mile radius rule for submissions.
• WV CARES clearance required prior to start.

Additional Information

• No IV starts required.
• Scrub color is flexible; travelers may wear any clean, professional color. Permanent staff wear emerald green.
• No call or standby requirements.
• Staffing includes 6-7 techs on day shifts, 3-4 on evenings, and 1 overnight tech.
