Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Interventional Radiology

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

Seeking a Registered Nurse with specialty experience in Interventional Radiology. The role involves working in a department with 6 labs/suites, handling 20-30 cases per day on average. The position requires working 4 days per week with 9-hour shifts between 6:30 AM and 6:00 PM. Call responsibilities include primary and secondary call for 6-8 shifts over 6 weeks, including weekends and holidays, with a 30-minute call response time.

Required Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license or confirmation that the application process has been initiated
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• Experience with EKG interpretation and drip titration required
• Must be able to pass a drug screen (drug-free workplace)
• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required

Work Environment & Details

• Department: Interventional Radiology
• Patient types: GI bleeds, strokes, biopsies, central lines, drains, vascular cases
• Nurse-to-patient ratios: 1:1 during procedures, up to 1:4 in phase 2 recovery
• Orientation: 5 days unit/department-specific orientation plus 12 non-billable orientation hours
• EMR system: EPIC
• Equipment: Phillips monitors
• Support staff: 1 Patient Care Technician per shift, Charge RN available 7:30 AM - 5:00 PM (does not take patients)
• Dress code: Surgical scrubs provided
• Scheduling: Not self-scheduled
• Call: Includes weeknights, weekends, and holidays; department closed on holidays
• Floating: No floating required

• Local candidates within a 50-mile radius are preferred
• Call off policy allows 12 hours off every 13 weeks without penalty
• Shift pattern: Four 9-hour shifts per week with call responsibilities
