Description

Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse – Interventional Radiology

Location: Peoria, Illinois
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
Shift: 4 days per week, 9-hour shifts between 6:30 AM – 6:00 PM (not self-scheduling)
Call Requirements:

Primary and secondary call 6-8 shifts in 6 weeks, including weekends
Holiday call (department closed on holidays)
Call response time: 30 minutes

Department Details

Interventional Radiology (IR)
6 labs/suites including pre-op and phase 2 recovery
Average 20-30 cases per day
Patient types: GI bleed, strokes, biopsy, central lines, drains, vascular cases
Nurse-to-patient ratios: 1:1 intraprocedural, up to 1:4 in phase 2 recovery
Support staff: 1 Patient Care Technician (PCT) per shift
Charge RN coverage from 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM (does not take patients, assists with cases and lunch coverage)

Required Certifications & Skills

BLS (Basic Life Support)
ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
EKG interpretation required
Experience with drip titration required

Orientation & Training

Unit/department-specific orientation: 5 days
Non-billable orientation hours: 12 hours

Equipment & EMR

EMR system: EPIC
Monitors: Phillips

Additional Information

Surgical scrubs provided
No floating required
Local placements accepted within a 50-mile radius
Drug-free workplace with mandatory negative drug screen
Call off policy: Equivalent of 12 hours off every 13 weeks without penalty

Required Qualifications

Active Illinois RN license or confirmation that application process has been initiated
Prior travel experience is not specified as required

This position is ideal for an experienced RN with interventional radiology skills, comfortable with call responsibilities and working in a fast-paced procedural environment.
