Travel Registered Nurse (Labor & Delivery) - Florida
Location: Key West, Florida
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights (7 PM - 7 AM)
Job Summary
Provide nursing care during the antepartum, intrapartum, immediate postpartum, and neonatal phases of obstetrical care in Labor and Delivery. Utilize the Nursing Process in accordance with the state Nurse Practice Act and facility policies. Demonstrate critical thinking, scientific judgment, and leadership to ensure safe delivery of care. Maintain clinical competencies through continuing education. Delegate and supervise patient care priorities based on staff education and experience.
Required Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Florida (AHCA required)
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Labor & Delivery nursing
- Must have completed at least 2 prior travel assignments in Labor & Delivery, postpartum, nursery, or Mother/Baby units
- Certifications:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) required but can be obtained within 30 days of start
- AWHONN certification preferred (can be completed onsite)
- Flexibility to float to other units as needed
Additional Information
- Housing within 50 miles of the facility must be secured prior to assignment acceptance
- Responsible for shift accountability and supervision of assigned personnel delivering patient care
- Must be prepared to work night shifts and adapt to facility needs
Prior Travel Experience
- Prior travel experience required: must have completed at least 2 prior travel assignments in relevant units
