Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Travel/Contract
Location: Durham, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Overview
- Discipline: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics
- Patient Age Groups: Neonates, Infants, Pediatrics, Adolescents, Adults, and Geriatrics
- Typical Ratios: 1:30
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend or every third weekend
- On-Call Requirement: Yes
- Floating: Yes
- Scrub Color: Black
- Orientation: Bi-weekly sessions
- Flu Vaccine: Mandatory, no exemptions or declinations accepted
Required Qualifications
- Valid Respiratory Therapist license in North Carolina
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT), including experience within the last year
- Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
Additional Details
- First-time travel RRTs are not accepted (prior travel experience required)
- Local candidates within 75 miles are considered for local rate eligibility
- Candidates must be prepared for on-call duties and floating assignments
- Compliance with all facility-specific competency checklists and online modules is required
- Candidates must complete all required documentation and health screenings prior to start
- Orientation and training include crisis prevention and unit-specific competency exams
Summary
This is a travel contract opportunity for an experienced Registered Respiratory Therapist with at least 5 years of experience, required NC licensure, and current ACLS and BLS certifications. The role involves working with a wide range of patient age groups, requires weekend and on-call availability, and mandates strict compliance with immunization and health screening policies. Prior travel experience is required; first-time travelers will not be considered.
Note: All candidates must comply with mandatory flu vaccination policy and complete all required background checks and health documentation before starting.
