Job Details

• Specialty: Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (Med Surg RN)
• Shift: Nights, 3 shifts per week, 12-hour shifts starting at 18:45
• Unit Size: 23 beds
• Weekend Requirement: Work every other weekend
• Floating: Will float within scope as needed
• Block Schedule: Open to accommodating block schedule (discuss with manager)
• Locals Accepted: Yes, no radius restrictions

Required Experience & Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Illinois
• Minimum 1 year of Medical Surgical nursing experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• PICC line management experience
• Experience with starting IVs

Work Environment

• Acute Care Hospital, Level I Trauma Center, Magnet recognized
• Charting system: Cerner
• Scrub color: Any solid color
• Parking permit required (no cost)

Additional Requirements

• Background checks and verifications as per Illinois state and facility policies
• Physical exam within one year of start date, including labs within 7 days of contract signing
• Fit mask test required prior to start (specific mask types accepted)
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within one year
• Immunizations or proof of immunity required for:

  • Measles (Rubeola)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B
  • Varicella
• Drug screening (9-panel) within 30 days of start
• Flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required annually
• Competency exam required prior to start
• Photo for badge required within one week of contract signing
• References: 2 professional references required

On-Call & Cancellation Policy

• No on-call required
• Client may cancel up to 36 hours per 13-week assignment without pay obligation
• Floating within scope to meet facility needs

Notes

• RTO (Return to Office) restrictions ideally no more than 5 days
• Guaranteed hours subject to client cancellation policy

This position is ideal for a Medical Surgical RN with at least 1 year of experience, comfortable working night shifts in an acute care, trauma, and Magnet hospital setting, with skills in PICC line management and IV starts. Prior travel experience is not required.
