Job Opportunity: MRI Tech
Location: Florence, South Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Details
- Shift: 3 shifts of 12 hours each, Friday through Sunday
- Friday: 10 AM – 10 PM
- Saturday & Sunday: 9 AM – 9 PM
- Weekend Requirement: Yes
- On-call: Some on-call required
- Floating: No floating between units or facilities
Required Qualifications
- MRI Technologist with a minimum of 3 years of experience
- MRI Technologist experience within the last year
- ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT certification
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
Additional Requirements
- First-time travelers may be considered ("Maybe")
- Local candidates are not accepted
- Must be able to work within a 60-mile radius of the facility
- Facility may call off 1 shift every 2 weeks
- Block schedule accommodations may be requested but are not guaranteed

Important Compliance & Documentation
- Proof of work eligibility in the US (I-9 verification)
- Copy of Driver’s License/State ID
- Copy of Social Security Card or SSN verification
- Annual background check including multiple state and national databases
- Drug screening: 10-panel drug test within 90 days of start
- Physical exam updated annually, attesting ability to meet physical demands
- Immunizations and titers required or proof of immunity for:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years or declination form)
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (positive titer or vaccination)
- Hepatitis B (titer, vaccine series, or declination)
- Varicella (chickenpox)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 90 days of start (2-step PPD or Quantiferon Gold not accepted; T-spot or Q-Gold required)
- Flu vaccination or medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Aug 1 – Apr 30)
- COVID-19 vaccination highly preferred; declination form required if not vaccinated
- Respirator clearance required annually for patient-facing roles
- Proof of 2 clinical references and recent performance evaluation (within 12 months)
- Verification of last 3 clinical employers (unless waived by facility)
Orientation & Onboarding
- Completion of facility-specific orientation modules prior to start (approx. 4 hours)
- Submission of a clear, passport-style photo for badge issuance
- Signed acknowledgments including assignment, confidentiality, code of conduct, and user agreements required before start
- Facility-specific COVID exemption form available for religious exemptions
Notes
- Hurricane season (June–November) may require assignment to emergency response teams; candidates should consider this before accepting new or extension contracts during this period.
- Candidates cannot start without all required documentation and certifications valid at start date (certifications expiring within 30 days of start are not accepted).
This position is ideal for experienced MRI Technologists seeking a travel contract with weekend shifts in a tertiary care setting.
