Job Opportunity: Certified Surgical Tech (CVOR)

Location: Columbus, Ohio
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

Seeking a Certified Surgical Tech with cardiovascular operating room (CVOR) experience. This role involves scrub duties with a focus on cardiac and vascular surgical procedures. First-time travelers and local candidates are welcome.

Shift Details

• Evenings: 2 shifts of 8 hours and 2 shifts of 12 hours (approx. 2:30 PM - 11:00 PM and 10:30 AM - 11:00 PM)
• Call required
• Weekend rotation
• Flexibility to work anytime between 6:30 AM and 11:00 PM

Required Experience

• Minimum 5 years total experience as a Certified Surgical Tech (CST)
• At least 2 years experience in cardiac and vascular surgery
• Minimum 1 year experience in a Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR)
• At least 1 year experience in a Level I Trauma facility
• Experience with cardiovascular/thoracic instrument reprocessing

Required Certifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS)

Required Skills and Competencies

• Scrub experience required
• Proficient in general OR, thoracic, vascular, and CVOR procedures (e.g., CABG, EVAR, TEVAR, valve replacement)
• Aseptic technique
• Crash cart management, scrub and circulate duties
• Equipment documentation
• Familiarity with EPIC charting system

Required Qualifications

• Certified Surgical Technologist experience
• Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) Technologist experience with at least 1 year within the last year
• Vascular Technologist experience
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Experience with cardiovascular/thoracic instrument reprocessing

Additional Requirements

• Completion of orientation safety manual acknowledgment annually
• Compliance with dress code and hand hygiene policies
• Fraud, waste, and abuse training certificate required prior to start and updated annually
• Employment application and skills checklist required
• Two professional references required (at least one from a manager or formal leader)

Notes

• Prior travel experience is not required; first-time travelers are accepted.
• Parking options are available but not included here due to privacy rules.
• Candidates must be flexible with shift times and weekend rotations.
