Registered Nurse (RN) - Med Surg/Telemetry (Nights)

Location: Des Moines, Iowa
Employment Type: Temporary
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Work 36-40 hours per week; overtime billable after 40 hours
• Patient types include neurosurgery, craniectomy, orthopedic cases
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:5-6
• Drip experience required with Heparin, PCA's, 3% Sodium (no titration)
• Specialty equipment experience preferred: telemetry, chest tubes, left equipment, airvo
• Must float across multiple campuses
• EMR system: EPIC

Required Qualifications

• Active Iowa RN license or compact/multistate license
• Minimum 24 months of Medical Surgical experience in a hospital or medical center setting
• Experience in neurology/neurosurgery/craniectomy care (required)
• Orthopedic care experience (required)
• Trauma care experience highly preferred
• Prior travel experience required; must have completed at least one travel assignment in the past 12 months
• Experience with EKG/strip reading, telemetry (required)
• Drip experience with Heparin, PCA, 3% Sodium (required)
• Skills checklist specific to Medical Surgical/Telemetry discipline (required)
• Current AHA or ARC ACLS certification (required)
• Current AHA or ARC BLS certification (required)
• Driver’s license (required)

Preferred Qualifications

• Trauma Level I experience
• De-escalation certification (CPI, MOAB, MAB, or SAMA accepted)
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification (can be obtained during onboarding)
• Professional references within the last 24 months
