Job Opportunity: Dietitian

Location: Odessa, Texas
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • First-time travelers are considered.
  • 2 years of experience preferred in Dietary Services.
  • Start date ideally before April 27.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RDN - Registered Dietitian Nutritionist license in Texas.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist.
  • Experience as a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist within the last year.

Certifications & Competencies

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) – AHA only (Instructor, Provider, or RQI accepted).
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) – AHA only (Instructor, Provider, or RQI accepted).
  • Other certifications (PALS, NRP, CHEMO, TNCC, EFM, ENPC, NIH Stroke, etc.) as applicable.
  • Competency exams and medication/pharmacology tests as required by profession.

Background & Compliance Requirements

  • 7-year background check within 30 days of start; updated annually.
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start.
  • Various facility-specific documents and acknowledgments (e.g., Standards of Conduct, Dress Code, HIPAA, Safety Training).
  • Annual TB test required.
  • Drug screening (10-panel) within 30 days of start.
  • Physical exam within 1 year of start.
  • Fit mask test within 1 year; updated annually.
  • Immunizations and titers required or documentation of immunity for:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
    • Measles (Rubeola)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Hepatitis B (or declination)
    • Varicella
    • Flu vaccine or declination during flu season (Oct-April)
    • COVID initial series or facility-specific declination (annual boosters not required)

Additional Requirements

  • Two professional references within 3 years.
  • Resume or employment application required.
  • Skills checklist updated annually.
  • Completion of orientation and safety training modules within 72 hours of contract signing.
  • Various facility-specific forms and acknowledgments must be completed prior to start.

This position offers an opportunity for dietitians with appropriate licensure and experience to work on a travel contract in Texas.
