Registered Nurse - MedSurg

Location: Morgantown, West Virginia
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit Details

• Unit: 8 EAST - MedSurg
• Beds: 34
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:6
• Charge Nurse & Transport RN coverage from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM (optimal staffing)
• Nurse aides typically 2-5 per shift
• Respiratory Therapy available 24/7; ventilators present on unit
• Telemetry available with tele techs posting strips; RNs must be proficient in reading and interpreting strips

Shift & Scheduling

• Shifts: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM and 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• Weekend and holiday work required (frequency unknown)
• Possible floating to other units (details unspecified)

Required Certifications & Qualifications

• BLS Certification required
• RNs are required to titrate drips
• Must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 (2 doses Moderna or Pfizer, or 1 dose J&J) or have an approved medical/religious exemption

Additional Requirements

• Driver’s license address must be outside a 50-mile radius from the facility
• Previous permanent candidates must have been off for 2 years before reapplying
• Previous travelers must have been off for 2 years if they stayed for 1 full year
• Travel teams must be submitted together
• Only 2 candidates submitted per opening at a time
