RN Charge/Supervisor - Nursing Administration

Location: Indianapolis, Indiana
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Manage day-to-day operations and long-term planning of the patient care area.
• Direct, develop, and evaluate nursing staff performance including hiring, training, scheduling, coaching, and disciplining.
• Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to ensure quality patient care.
• Provide physical, psychological, and emotional support to patients and their families.
• Develop and enforce nursing policies, procedures, and standards of care in compliance with state nursing board and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor nursing productivity, quality, and customer service standards; identify and implement system improvements.
• Manage nursing budgets, monitor expenditures, and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Maintain safe, clean, and compliant work environment including infection control and medication administration protocols.
• Maintain accurate documentation and audit patient and department records.
• Oversee medical and administrative equipment maintenance and inventory management.
• Promote professional development by attending educational workshops and participating in professional networks.
• Foster cooperative relationships within healthcare teams and participate in problem-solving.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Indiana
• Minimum of 5 years of House Supervisor experience, including experience within the last year
• Experience in supervisory roles within nursing
• Intensive Care Unit (ICU) experience
• Current ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
