Description

Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Endocrinology/Infectious Disease

Location: Charleston, South Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Position Details

  • Specialty: Registered Nurse (Endocrinology/Infectious Disease)
  • Shift: 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Patient Ratio: 1:5
  • Weekend Requirement: None
  • On-call Requirement: Not applicable
  • Floating: Yes, may need to float within scope to like units or sister facilities

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in South Carolina
  • Minimum 2 years of medical-surgical nursing experience, with at least some experience within the last year
  • Completion of at least one travel nursing assignment
  • BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Experience with Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM)
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Additional Requirements

  • Must be able to work within a 60-mile local radius
  • Locals may be considered on a case-by-case basis
  • Background checks including 7 years of history and various federal/state registries required
  • Education verification and diploma/transcripts preferred
  • Drug screening (10-panel) within 90 days of start
  • Fit test for N95 mask within 90 days of start, renewed annually
  • Immunizations and health documents required:
    • Tdap within 10 years or declination form
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 90 days
    • Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella immunity or vaccination
    • Hepatitis B titer or vaccination series or declination
    • Flu vaccine required during flu season or medical/religious exemption
  • COVID vaccination highly preferred; declination form required if not vaccinated
  • Competency exams and medication/pharmacology tests as applicable
  • Clear, passport-style photo required for badge

Facility & Work Environment Highlights

  • Level I Trauma Center, Teaching Facility, Magnet Hospital
  • Total staffed beds: 820
  • Charting system: EPIC
  • Dress code: Solid Royal Blue or White top with Royal Blue bottoms for RNs

Notes

  • Block scheduling may be accommodated with manager approval
  • Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
  • Radiation badge may be required for certain units (not typically for this role)
  • Prior travel experience is required; first-time travelers will not be accepted

This position is ideal for experienced medical-surgical RNs with prior travel contract experience seeking a daytime shift in a high-acuity teaching hospital environment.
