Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Endocrinology/Infectious Disease
Location: Charleston, South Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Details
- Specialty: Registered Nurse (Endocrinology/Infectious Disease)
- Shift: 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
- Patient Ratio: 1:5
- Weekend Requirement: None
- On-call Requirement: Not applicable
- Floating: Yes, may need to float within scope to like units or sister facilities
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in South Carolina
- Minimum 2 years of medical-surgical nursing experience, with at least some experience within the last year
- Completion of at least one travel nursing assignment
- BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Experience with Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM)
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Additional Requirements
- Must be able to work within a 60-mile local radius
- Locals may be considered on a case-by-case basis
- Background checks including 7 years of history and various federal/state registries required
- Education verification and diploma/transcripts preferred
- Drug screening (10-panel) within 90 days of start
- Fit test for N95 mask within 90 days of start, renewed annually
- Immunizations and health documents required:
- Tdap within 10 years or declination form
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 90 days
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella immunity or vaccination
- Hepatitis B titer or vaccination series or declination
- Flu vaccine required during flu season or medical/religious exemption
- COVID vaccination highly preferred; declination form required if not vaccinated
- Competency exams and medication/pharmacology tests as applicable
- Clear, passport-style photo required for badge
Facility & Work Environment Highlights
- Level I Trauma Center, Teaching Facility, Magnet Hospital
- Total staffed beds: 820
- Charting system: EPIC
- Dress code: Solid Royal Blue or White top with Royal Blue bottoms for RNs
Notes
- Block scheduling may be accommodated with manager approval
- Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
- Radiation badge may be required for certain units (not typically for this role)
- Prior travel experience is required; first-time travelers will not be accepted
This position is ideal for experienced medical-surgical RNs with prior travel contract experience seeking a daytime shift in a high-acuity teaching hospital environment.
