Job Opportunity: Endoscopy Registered Nurse (RN)

Location: Washington, District of Columbia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Function in a dual capacity:
    • Preoperative area: IV initiation, patient assessment, and education (ratio 1:3)
    • Endoscopy suite: Circulating nurse (ratio 1:1)
  • Float between like units as needed
  • No on-call required
  • No weekend shifts
  • Open to block scheduling

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the District of Columbia
  • Minimum 2 years of endoscopy experience, with endoscopy experience within the last year
  • Completion of at least one travel nursing assignment
  • BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

  • Proof of I9 or attestation
  • Government-issued photo ID
  • E-Verify proof or attestation
  • Background check (7-year criminal history, nationwide, sex offender, FACIS Level 3) within one year of start
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start and updated for renewals
  • Education verification from primary source
  • Physical exam attesting ability to meet job demands, updated annually
  • Fit mask testing within one year, updated annually
  • Immunizations and titers required:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (or declination form)
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within one year
    • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (titer or 2 vaccines, no declinations)
    • Hepatitis B (titer, vaccine series, or declination form)
    • Varicella (titer or 2 vaccines, declinations accepted only for medical/religious reasons)
    • Flu vaccine required annually (medical/religious exemptions accepted with approval)
  • Drug screening: 9-panel within last 12 months (instant acceptable)
  • COVID-19 vaccination required prior to start (booster preferred but not required; medical/religious exemptions subject to approval)

Additional Information

  • Ratio: 1:2 overall, with specific ratios in preop and endoscopy
  • Must be able to float between similar units
  • No weekend shifts or on-call duties
  • Public transportation access available
  • Parking is the responsibility of the employee

References & Evaluations

  • Proof of 2 clinical references required
  • Performance evaluations required if previously employed over 1 year with the agency

This position is ideal for experienced Endoscopy RNs with prior travel contract experience seeking a 13-week travel assignment in Washington, D.C.
