Occupational Therapist Travel Job – Independence, Missouri

Position Details

• Discipline: Occupational Therapy (OT)
• Employment Type: Travel
• Location: Independence, Missouri
• Unit: Inpatient Rehabilitation, 4th Floor
• Shift: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM, ideally Tuesday–Saturday or Sunday–Thursday; weekend help needed most
• Weekend Requirement: If working Monday–Friday, one weekend every 6 weeks

Unit Information

• 16-bed inpatient rehab unit within a 285-bed Level 2 Trauma Center
• Staff: 14 total (11 acute care OTs, 4 rehab OTs on day shift)
• Patient Ratios: Acute care 12:1, Rehab 4-5:1
• Equipment: Standard rehab gym equipment
• EMR System: Meditech

Typical Procedures

• Evaluations and treatments
• Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and mobility assistance

Dress Code

• Scrubs color: Eggplant

Required Qualifications

• Valid Occupational Therapist license in Missouri
• Occupational Therapist with a minimum of 2 years of experience, including experience within the last year
• BLS Certification
• OTR Certification
• De-escalation skills in a healthcare setting

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in acute care and/or rehab settings
