Registered Nurse - Labor & Delivery

Location: Portsmouth, New Hampshire
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit Information

• Unit: Family Services
• Number of Beds: 19
• Patient Ratios:

  • Labor & Delivery (L&D): 1-2:1
  • Postpartum (PP): 3:1
  • Gynecology/Pediatrics: 3-4:1
• Staffing: Nurses, Unit Coordinators, Manager, Director
• Equipment: EFM, beds, pumps, etc.
• Documentation System: Meditech Expanse and CPN Connect
• Scheduling: 3 shifts of 12 hours each
• Floating Policy: Float to other units as helping hands, sitter, or virtual support
• Dress Code: Unit scrubs provided

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Hampshire
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery (L&D) experience, including experience within the last year
• Postpartum (PP) experience
• LDRP (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum) experience
• Nursery/NICU experience
• Experience with obstetric procedures including versions, circumcisions, and cesarean sections (C-sections)
• Certifications required:

  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
  • Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) certification
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Continuous Electronic Fetal Monitoring (C-EFM)
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)

Skills and Experience

• Must have Labor & Delivery and Postpartum experience
• Requested skill set includes LDRP (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum)
• Nursery/NICU experience is a plus
• Advanced skills and procedures performed on unit include:

  • Versions
  • Circumcisions
  • Cesarean sections (C-sections)
