Job Description

• Full Time, 5 days/week, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM, including holidays, weekends, and on-call duties
• Provide medical nutrition therapy to patients, employees, and the community
• Establish and implement standardized Nutrition Care Process for identifying and treating patients requiring Medical Nutrition Therapy
• Maintain patient data to recommend, prescribe, or modify therapeutic diets as needed
• Develop and provide nutrition education and counseling to patients and their families/caretakers

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) license in Kentucky
• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, including experience within the last year

Background & Credentialing Requirements

• 7-year criminal background check covering all locations lived/worked in the past 7 years
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required
• Education verification required; transcript or diploma may be requested if verification is unavailable
• State-specific abuse registry check as applicable
• Professional references: 2 required (1 for non-clinical candidates)
• Employment application and unit-specific skills checklist (updated annually) required

Certifications & Competencies

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) may be required depending on unit
• Other certifications (PALS, NRP, NIH Stroke, CPI) as applicable by specialty/unit
• Medication test/pharmacology competency exam as applicable
• Color blindness testing required prior to start
• Competency exam required prior to start (not required for non-clinical roles)

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start (not required for non-clinical candidates)
• Fit mask test annually; fit test waiver available for medical or religious reasons
• Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years (declination acceptable for non-clinical)
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, updated annually
• Baseline TB risk assessment within 90 days of start, updated annually
• Immunizations required:

  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (2 MMR vaccines or IgG titer)
  • Hepatitis B (surface antibody titer, series, or declination)
  • Varicella (2 vaccines or IgG titer)
• Negative 9-panel urine drug screen within 90 days of start
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)
• COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required

Additional Notes

• Driver’s license required if driving is a major job function
• Badge photo required for identification
• Facility-specific exemption forms required for vaccine exemptions
• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position
