Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
Location: Midland, Texas
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Must be a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT); Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) not accepted.
- Required experience in adult critical care, including strong ICU/CCU exposure.
- Experience in Emergency Room (ER) and Level II Trauma care required.
- Pediatric experience is also required.
- Experience working in large healthcare facilities is strongly preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Current and valid RRT license.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification (AHA Instructor, Provider, or RQI accepted).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA Instructor, Provider, or RQI accepted).
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification (AHA Instructor, Provider, or RQI accepted).
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification as applicable.
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification required for ER experience.
- Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) preferred for Labor & Delivery experience.
- National Respiratory Care Board (NBRC) certification required.
- State license verification required within 30 days of start.
- Background checks including 10-year criminal history, EPLS/GSA/SAM, and HHS/OIG required within 30 days of start.
- Drug screening and physical exam required prior to start.
- Immunizations and health requirements including:
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months.
- Vaccinations or positive titers for Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, and Varicella.
- Seasonal flu vaccination or agency declination during flu season.
- N95 Fit Test required within 1 year of start (PAPR not accepted).
- Competency exams and medication/pharmacology competency as applicable.
- References: 2 references required within 3 years of start.
- Employment application or resume required.
- Annual renewal of background checks and certifications as applicable.
Additional Requirements
- Must review and sign confidentiality, security, drug screening consent, TB questionnaire, and compliance checklists prior to start.
- Must complete facility-specific orientation and safety manuals.
- Must comply with all state-specific employment and misconduct registry checks.
Experience Requirements
- Specialty years of experience: Minimum 1 year in respiratory therapy with critical care focus (ICU/CCU, ER, Trauma, Pediatrics).
- Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.
