Surgical Technician - Wisconsin

Location: Mauston, Wisconsin
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Summary

The Surgical Technician prepares the operating room by setting up the sterile field, surgical equipment, supplies, and solutions. During surgery, this role assists the surgeon by passing instruments, fluids, and supplies, managing surgical equipment, the sterile field, and specimens.

Essential Job Duties

• Maintain a clean and sterile surgical environment.
• Provide the surgeon with appropriate instrumentation and equipment.
• Assist the surgeon during procedures.
• Prepare the operating room for surgery.
• Keep records of Steam Sterilizer use.
• Perform initial instrument, sharps, and sponge counts with the circulator.
• Organize suture carts and monitor expiration dates.
• Turn over rooms between cases.
• Assist team members with gowning and gloving.
• Assist with patient positioning pre-operatively and transport patient from cart to bed and back.
• Stock adequate supplies for surgery.
• Perform other duties as requested.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Certified Surgical Technologist certification preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of related work experience preferred.
• BLS certification required.
• Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail required.
• Must provide 2 professional references.

Schedule

Full-time, Monday-Thursday, 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM with call time rotation.
