Registered Nurse - Med Surg/Telemetry

Location: Show Low, Arizona
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

A regional hospital in the White Mountains of Arizona is seeking a Med Surg/Telemetry travel nurse. This role involves working on a 24-bed MedSurg unit with telemetry capability on all beds, with a strong focus on telemetry patients. The unit cares for adults primarily; pediatric patients are assigned to permanent staff. Nurses will float to all Med Surg units and the ICU to assist with Med Surg overflow patients.

Work Environment & Schedule

• 12-hour shifts
• Nurse-to-patient ratios: 1:5 during the day, 1:6 at night
• Support staff includes telemetry techs, charge nurses, HUCs, and PCTs
• Hospitalist coverage 24/7
• Respiratory therapist and pharmacy available 24/7
• No IV team on site
• EMR system: Sunrise Allscripts
• Scrub color: any color except all black (scrubs not provided)

Required Qualifications

• Registered Nurse license (RN)
• Minimum 2 years of Med Surg/Telemetry nursing experience (higher experience requirement applies)
• ACLS (AHA) certification required
• BLS (AHA) certification required
• NIHSS certification required
• PALS certification preferred
• Strong neuro and cardiac nursing skills

Additional Information

• 36-hour guarantee with up to 3 cancellations allowed
• Float to multiple units including ICU for Med Surg overflow
• Pediatric patients are not assigned to travelers
