Job Description

• Position requires proficiency in Echocardiology, Vascular, and General Ultrasound.
• Must be fully proficient in Echo Tech skills; no training provided.
• Required skills include Vascular Ultrasound studies and Echocardiography: Adult Echo, Contrast Echo, and Stress Echocardiogram (Treadmill).
• Floating between units is not required.
• On-call required: 5pm - 8am Monday - Friday, 24 hours Saturday & Sunday.
• Weekends are required on-call.
• Patient ratio expected: 8:1.
• Facility type: Short Term Acute Care, Level IV Trauma Center.
• Total staffed beds: 49.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Vascular Sonographer, with recent experience within the last year.
• Proficient in vascular ultrasound studies.
• Experience in adult echocardiography (Adult Echo).
• Experience in contrast echocardiography (Contrast Echo).
• Experience in stress echocardiography (Stress Echocardiogram - Treadmill).

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Physical Exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO.
• Drug Testing: 10 Panel Drug Screen within 90 days of start (no instant tests).
• Immunizations and Health Documents:

  • TDAP vaccine within 10 years or declination.
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually.
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer.
  • Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination.
  • Varicella vaccination or positive titer.
  • Flu vaccine during flu season or declination.
  • COVID vaccine or declination.
• Respirator Safety Clearance required annually for travel candidates.
• Background Check within 45 days of start covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years.
• Education Verification required.
• Employment Application covering at least last 5 years.
• Minimum of 2 references covering 1 year of employment within last 3 years in comparable specialty/setting.
• Skills Checklist updated annually as applicable.

• Floating Policy: May be required to float to another facility within reasonable distance.
• On-call and weekend availability required.
• Fast-paced environment; no training provided on echocardiography skills.
