Job Description

Seeking an experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse to provide safe, age-appropriate patient care and serve as an advisor and resource for patients and their families. The role involves working in a surgical environment with a variety of specialties including trauma, ENT, colorectal, plastics, neurosurgery, surgical oncology, oral/dental, laparoscopic procedures, urology, ophthalmology, gynecology, general surgery, orthopedics, robotics, vascular, thoracic, and more.

Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Maryland
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Minimum 1 year of experience in ENT Surgery, including experience within the last year
• Experience in the following surgical specialties:

  • Colo-Rectal Surgery
  • Plastic Surgery
  • Neurosurgery
  • Surgical Oncology
  • Urology
  • Ophthalmology
  • OB/GYN
  • Orthopedics
  • Vascular Surgery
  • Thoracic Surgery
  • Trauma
  • Oral/Dental
  • Laparoscopic Procedures
  • Robotics
• Certifications:

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) issued by American Heart Association
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by American Heart Association
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) issued by American Heart Association
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure (NRP)
  • STABLE certification
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification
  • National Tech Cert Verification
• Completion and acknowledgement of pass/fail testing including EKG and medication competency exams
• Compliance with facility-specific policies and acknowledgments (e.g., hand hygiene, floating policy, time and attendance)

Skills & Competencies

• Proficient in a wide range of surgical specialties and procedures
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary patient care team
• Strong clinical judgment and patient advocacy skills
• Familiarity with advanced technology and minimally invasive surgical techniques

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Respirator fit testing will be completed onsite; PAPR training provided if needed
• References: 2 professional references within 2 years of start date preferred
• Employment verification required for at least 2 workplaces within the last 7 years (W2 or supervisor references accepted)

Prior Travel Experience

• No prior travel experience required; first-time travelers are accepted
