Required Experience

• Minimum 2 years of experience caring for the full lifespan of patients (pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics)

Required Certifications

• Active state respiratory therapy license
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
• RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist) or CRT (Certified Respiratory Therapist)

Required Skills and Experience

• Experience with pediatric, adult, and geriatric respiratory patients
• Technical skills including:

  • Tracheostomies (Trachs)
  • Nitrous oxide procedures
  • Proning techniques
  • Critical care experience
  • Ventilator-associated pneumonia (VAP) management or prevention
  • Spontaneous breathing trials
  • Arterial blood gas (ABG) draws
• Experience with EPIC electronic health record system (required)
• Familiarity with ventilators such as PB840, 980, Servo-U, Hamilton
• Experience with CPAP/BiPAP devices (V60s, ResMed, RemStar)
• Use of Optiflow and transport ventilators (Hamilton)

Patient Ratios

• 1:1 patient care ratio

Scheduling

• 12-hour shifts
• Weekend rotation every other weekend
• No on-call required
• Holiday work as needed

Orientation

• 1 day on unit orientation

Additional Information

• Scrub color required: Charcoal Gray
• Free parking available
• Potential floating to other hospitals within the local service area based on contract needs
• Plenty of PPE available, including N95 masks
