Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) – Respiratory Therapy

Unit Information

• Department: Respiratory Services
• Number of Beds: 854
• Number of Staff: 120 Respiratory Therapists
• Shift Staffing:

  • Day Shift: 15-20 RRTs for Adult service lines, 3-4 RRTs for NICU/Pediatrics
  • Night Shift: 12-16 RRTs for Adult service lines, 3-4 RRTs for NICU/Pediatrics
• Patient Ratios: 10 - 25 patients per therapist
• Equipment Used:

  • GE R860 Adult ventilators
  • Draeger Infant/Pediatric ventilators
  • Newport HT70 transport ventilator
  • V60 Non-invasive device
  • Vapotherm and Comfort Flow high flow oxygen devices
• Electronic Medical Record (EMR): Cerner

Job Description

• Provide respiratory therapy services across all critical care units and floors (floating required).
• Typical procedures involve adult and pediatric respiratory care using advanced ventilators and oxygen delivery systems.
• Work schedule includes varying weekends, with at least 4 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule.
• Dress code: Medium Gray/Pewter scrubs.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Respiratory Therapist license in North Carolina
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential (NBRC)
• Minimum 1 year of experience as an RRT in respiratory therapy within the last year
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification

Additional Information

• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with a diverse patient population including adult, neonatal, and pediatric patients.
• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.
