Job Opportunity: Echo Tech / Cardiac Sonographer

Location: Columbus, Ohio
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Work Schedule

• Option of either:

  • 4 days a week, 10-hour shifts (Weekdays 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM)
  • 5 days a week, 8-hour shifts (Monday-Friday 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM)
• Occasional Saturday rotation (8:00 AM – 1:00 PM), approximately 2-3 times per 13-week contract

Job Description

• Perform portable and inpatient cardiac ultrasound exams with varying degrees of patient acuity
• Outpatient exams also performed
• Equipment includes Philips, GE, and Siemens ultrasound machines

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Cardiac Sonographer
• Cardiac Sonographer experience within the last year
• Current BLS certification
• Must hold one of the following credentials: ARDMS, RDCS, or CCI

Prior Travel Experience

• No explicit requirement for prior travel experience noted

Background and Compliance Requirements

• 7-year criminal background check within 90 days of start, including FBI and state fingerprinting (BCI/FBI)
• Monthly monitoring through workforce screening systems
• Education accreditation verification required for all candidates
• Drug screening: Negative 10-panel drug test within 3 months of start (no pending tests allowed)
• Physical exam within 1 year of start confirming good health and freedom from contagious disease
• Immunizations and health documents required:

  • Tdap vaccine (adult dose)
  • Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 1 year
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titers
  • Hepatitis B titer or vaccine series (declination acceptable)
  • Varicella vaccination or positive titer (medical exemptions reviewed)
  • Seasonal flu vaccine or declination during flu season (10/1 - 3/31)
• Annual review and acknowledgment of dress code, hand hygiene, ethics, and compliance policies

Competency and Certification Exams

• Unit-specific competency exams required
• Medication/pharmacology competency exam required prior to start
• Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required within 1 year of start and updated annually (unless exempted by unit or remote status)

References and Documentation

• Two professional references required, including at least one from a manager or formal leader
• Employment application and skills checklist required

Additional Notes

• Fingerprinting must be completed using specific state codes and within 1 year of start; new fingerprinting required if there is a break in service over 90 days
• Pending background check attestation required if fingerprint results are not yet available at start
• Candidates must comply with all facility-specific policies and training requirements prior to and during assignment
