Description

Ultrasound Tech/Sonographer

Location: Manchester, New Hampshire
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Unit Information

  • Ultrasound department with 4 ultrasound rooms
  • Staff: 14 total
    • Day Shift: 4 sonographers + supervisor
    • Second Shift: 1 sonographer after 7:30 PM
    • Night Shift: 1 sonographer
  • Patient Ratios: 8-10 patients per 8-hour shift
  • Equipment: Siemens Acuson S200 & GE Logiq E10
  • EMR System: Allscripts
  • PACS: InteleRad
  • Patient Population: Pediatric to geriatric

Job Description

  • Weekend night shifts
  • Typical procedures include thoracentesis, paracentesis, fine needle aspirations (thyroids, parotids, lymph nodes), soft tissue masses or lymph node biopsies, liver & renal biopsies, drainages (abscesses, cysts, hematomas, gallbladders), thrombin injections, breast needle placements, carotid ultrasounds, D&Cs, prostate biopsies
  • Opportunities for extra shifts within the department
  • No on-call required for weekend staff; call tree in place for permanent full-time staff for critical staffing needs

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of ultrasound experience with a wide array of exposure to various types of ultrasound
  • Recent ultrasound technologist experience within the last year
  • Clinical experience in a hospital or acute care setting with exposure to general, vascular, and OB-GYN sonography
  • Certifications:
    • ARRT (S) or ARDMS
    • BLS (Basic Life Support)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Additional certifications such as RVT (Registered Vascular Technologist), OB-GYN, or AB (Abdominal)
  • Experience in the OR and with ultrasound-guided procedures
  • At least 1 year of experience beyond education
