Job Opportunity: Ultrasound Tech Maternal Fetal

Location: Raleigh, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Position Details

  • Patient Age Group: Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics
  • Minimum Years of Experience: 1 year (specialty experience in Maternal Fetal Ultrasound)
  • First-Time Travelers: Accepted
  • Local Candidates: Accepted (within 75 miles)
  • Weekend Requirement: None
  • On-Call Requirement: No
  • Floating: May be asked to float to a nearby clinic
  • Orientation: Bi-weekly sessions
  • Equipment Used: GE ultrasound machines
  • Typical Workload: 7-10 patients per day, primarily OB exams with occasional GYN scans
  • Flu Vaccine: Required, no exemptions or declinations accepted

Required Certifications and Licenses

  • ARDMS OB/GYN certification
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Maternal Fetal Medicine Sonography license in North Carolina
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in Maternal Fetal Medicine Sonography, including experience within the last year
  • Certification from the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)
  • Experience working with Maternal-Fetal patients
  • Experience as an Ultrasound Technologist specializing in Maternal Fetal ultrasound

Background and Compliance Requirements

  • Background check within 90 days of start, including multi-county and nationwide searches
  • Education verification confirming graduation from an accredited sonography program
  • Drug testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen (including THC) within 30 days of start
  • Physical exam within 12 months of start
  • Fit mask (N95 or equivalent) within 12 months of start
  • Immunizations and health documents required:
    • Flu vaccine (mandatory)
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (every 10 years)
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months
    • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) vaccination or positive titer
    • Hepatitis B vaccination or titer or declination
    • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
    • Polio vaccine or attestation

Additional Requirements

  • Two professional references from employment within the last 12 months (at least one supervisor)
  • Employment application with 7 years of work history
  • Skills checklist updated annually
  • Competency exam specific to unit required
  • Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) training provided during orientation (valid for 2 years)
  • Candidate must set up a guest account prior to clearance for access to orientation and work systems

Notes

  • Candidates may be required to complete online modules prior to orientation
  • Candidate must comply with all health and safety protocols, including mandatory vaccinations
  • No exemptions or declinations accepted for flu vaccine or MMR series
  • Floating assignments may occur within the local area
