Job Opportunity: Ultrasound Tech Maternal Fetal
Location: Raleigh, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Details
- Patient Age Group: Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics
- Minimum Years of Experience: 1 year (specialty experience in Maternal Fetal Ultrasound)
- First-Time Travelers: Accepted
- Local Candidates: Accepted (within 75 miles)
- Weekend Requirement: None
- On-Call Requirement: No
- Floating: May be asked to float to a nearby clinic
- Orientation: Bi-weekly sessions
- Equipment Used: GE ultrasound machines
- Typical Workload: 7-10 patients per day, primarily OB exams with occasional GYN scans
- Flu Vaccine: Required, no exemptions or declinations accepted
Required Certifications and Licenses
- ARDMS OB/GYN certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Required Qualifications
- Valid Maternal Fetal Medicine Sonography license in North Carolina
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in Maternal Fetal Medicine Sonography, including experience within the last year
- Certification from the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)
- Experience working with Maternal-Fetal patients
- Experience as an Ultrasound Technologist specializing in Maternal Fetal ultrasound
Background and Compliance Requirements
- Background check within 90 days of start, including multi-county and nationwide searches
- Education verification confirming graduation from an accredited sonography program
- Drug testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen (including THC) within 30 days of start
- Physical exam within 12 months of start
- Fit mask (N95 or equivalent) within 12 months of start
- Immunizations and health documents required:
- Flu vaccine (mandatory)
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (every 10 years)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) vaccination or positive titer
- Hepatitis B vaccination or titer or declination
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer
- Polio vaccine or attestation
Additional Requirements
- Two professional references from employment within the last 12 months (at least one supervisor)
- Employment application with 7 years of work history
- Skills checklist updated annually
- Competency exam specific to unit required
- Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) training provided during orientation (valid for 2 years)
- Candidate must set up a guest account prior to clearance for access to orientation and work systems
Notes
- Candidates may be required to complete online modules prior to orientation
- Candidate must comply with all health and safety protocols, including mandatory vaccinations
- No exemptions or declinations accepted for flu vaccine or MMR series
- Floating assignments may occur within the local area
