Job Opportunity: Pediatric Dietitian

Location: Atlanta, Georgia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• No weekend requirements
• 8-hour shifts with flexible start time between 7:00 AM and 9:00 AM
• 30-minute lunch break
• Must be a licensed Registered Dietitian (RD) able to practice in Georgia
• Pediatric experience with Enteral Nutrition (EN) and Medical Nutrition Therapy is required
• Minimum of 6 months pediatric experience required, preferably at a children's hospital
• Candidates without pediatric experience will not be considered

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) license in Georgia
• At least 6 months (0.5 years) of recent pediatric dietitian experience within the last year
• Experience working with pediatric patients

Certifications & Training

• Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA only, required for all travelers except certain non-clinical roles
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) - AHA only, required for RNs, LPNs, Clinical Nurses, International Nurses, and Respiratory Care Professionals (not specifically required for dietitians)
• Proof of OSHA, HIPAA, and Joint Commission annual training or signed attestation
• Other certifications as applicable to the dietitian role

Background & Health Requirements

• Background check required within 30 days of start, including SSN trace, statewide, county, nationwide, and sex offender checks
• Drug testing: 10-panel plus nicotine/cotinine test within 60 days of start
• Physical exam required within 1 year of start (not required to be updated annually)
• Fit mask (N95) test within 12 months of start; must be 3M N95 in approved sizes
• Immunizations and titers required:

  • Tdap vaccine (no declinations accepted)
  • Negative TB test (Qgold or Tspot within 3 months; PPD not accepted)
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (positive titer or 2 vaccines; boosters required if titers negative or equivocal)
  • Hepatitis B (proof of positive titer or declination)
  • Varicella (positive titer or 2 vaccines; boosters required if titers negative or equivocal)
• Seasonal flu vaccination mandatory for the current season; no exemptions accepted

Documentation & Compliance

• Proof of identity (government-issued photo ID) and Social Security card required
• Employment application/resume and two clinical references required
• Skills checklist and competency exams as applicable, including pediatric pharmacology competency for nursing staff (may be relevant for interdisciplinary teams)
• Facility-specific confidentiality and security agreement must be signed prior to start

Additional Notes

• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position
• Pediatric experience is mandatory and non-negotiable
• Flexibility in shift start times but no weekend work required
