Job Description

• Provide rehabilitative, skilled, and medically necessary treatment interventions to patients with physical functioning disorders under the supervision of a Physical Therapist.
• Utilize evidence-based practice to support clinical interventions.
• Administer procedures including manual techniques, ambulation, therapeutic exercises, modalities, and use of supportive/assistive devices.
• Assess patient progress and communicate with supervising Physical Therapist to adjust treatments.
• Report treatment effectiveness and provide consultation to patients, families, caregivers, and other service providers.
• Document all required clinical and regulatory information accurately in electronic records.
• Participate in patient care conferences, utilization review meetings, rehabilitation meetings, and required trainings.
• Support and supervise students under the guidance of the Physical Therapist.
• Adhere to APTA and State practice acts, code of conduct, and ethics.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1+ years of Physical Therapist Assistant experience.
• Experience in Long Term Care (LTC) or Rehabilitation settings.
• Active Physical Therapist Assistant license in the state of Texas.
• Completed skills checklist within 1 year of application.
• Work history/resume, references, license verification, and certifications required.

Additional Information

• Full-time hours at a single facility; no travel between buildings.
• Productivity expectations: 90-93% for Assistants.
• Typical treatment times: ~30-35 minutes for Medicare A and Managed care patients.
• Group therapy is allowed and encouraged.
• Dedicated device provided for documentation.
